Clean aluminum rims can enhance the look of your vehicle.  Without the proper know-how, you might never get the shine back in your aluminum wheels. Information on aluminum rim cleaning can help you enhance your wheels, which in turn can have a positive effect on the overall look of your vehicle.

Conditions

When attempting an aluminum rim cleaning job, weather conditions are something to be aware of in advance. Rain could attract unwanted dirt to your wheels. A clear day with a temperature from the mid-70s to the low 90s Fahrenheit is preferable.

Cleaning

When cleaning aluminum rims, it's best to begin with a strong pressure rinse. Debris and dirt can then be removed with a lint free rag. Using diluted detergents and drying with a cloth of pure cotton yields best results.

Warning

Something to be wary of are cleaning agents that might have a negative impact on your rims. Avoid using cleaning products that have ammonia in them. Ammonia can severely damage your wheels and causes aluminum's aging process to accelerate.
